Do You Like My New Look?

So, do you like my new blog’s look?

After a fiasco with WordPress.com that involved the deletion of my account and 12 researched blog posts for a potential client.  No, let me rephrase that statement for accuracy, it was a mock assignment for my VA class, but I still put in a good amount of time and effort into making it look professional. She was “marketing” acai berry and a couple of the posts had links to third party vendors who sold acai berry and one link to her website. And for that I was deleted. I was utterly confused and angry.  And I definitely didn’t feel any better when I realized that WordPress.com actually “owned” my hard work and could at their discretion dump it all really burned me up.

I also had a blog (curriculum reviews and really homeschooly topics) on Blogger so I checked out their fine print and found out that they have the same policy, although they’re much less stringent then WordPress. I haven’t found many blog cancellations either, but they do still own whatever I put up on their site. I find that to be a bit disturbing.

So, I thought that I found the solution with my free OrangeLeads blog. It’s hosted by a successful entrepreneur and fellow homeschooler,  named Timothy Drobnick, Sr. He’s really helpful and I’ve learned a lot from him. He provided my first WordPress experience and I’m really grateful for his expanding my knowledge and experience base. I don’t worry about him dumping my content for any reason, but there are certain add-ons that I’d like to try and themes that I think are cool, but since he is the admin host site, I don’t have access to include those things on my blog.

And so, long story short (or is it already too late for that?) I’m going to try it on my own for a bit. I’ve even convinced my husband to start his own blog. See, once he realized that I was going to pay a monthly hosting free for my blogs, he decided that he wanted to get his money’s worth out of it too!  He’s an awesome writer and once his blog is up and running I’ll be sure to let you know.

So, now that you know the backstory, which look do you prefer?
