Moms need an outlet. With all that they do each day, time spent doing something they like is a luxury. One way that moms are easing the stress is to begin blogging.
The term “mommy blogger” has stuck to the groups of women who have shared their experiences of motherhood online. Unlike other types of blogging niches, mom bloggers can translate their care for family into discussions on the environment, healthcare, travel and fashion. As a mom, you will come in contact with these topics and others in one way or another.
Your Opinion, Please?
Moms have never been shy to talk about what gets their goat. Whether it is in the park with fellow moms or talking to other family members, you shed light on the way you feel about, well, everything. These opinions have gone global through posts on mommy blogs.
While it is okay to occasionally rant endlessly, most mom blogs express their happiness or outrage in far more intelligent language so that the offending company or person gets the point. Don’t be misinformed. Mom bloggers are doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, homeschoolers, single parents, writers, artists, and store managers to name a few. Blogging is not their life but it is a way to share their lives with women going through similar situations. So, dump the notion that these moms don’t know anything.
Making a Difference
Remember the E.F. Hutton commercial? Everyone listened when they had something to say. The same goes for mom bloggers. Moms are viewed as matriarchs of their families with a lot of wise advice to impart. Moms listen to each other’s funny stories about kids and serious reviews of all sorts of products.
When a mom speaks negatively about something, rest assured, the entire mom world is listening. They are listening because they are directly impacted. A stroller that can fold down without notice and harm a child is important to all moms with young children. They will pass the word.
Bloggers who are well-established in the blogosphere have huge readerships. Their podcasts, videos and content are shaping the way that other moms spend their money. Large corporate brands are realizing that mom bloggers are a force to be reckoned with and trying to tap into this solid network to promote their products.
Whether they are called mom bloggers, mommy bloggers or parenting bloggers, the power of the mom is not to be ignored. Any business would be shortsighted not to find ways to get their products into the hands of these and other moms. If you want to help make a difference, start a blog today.
